Conclusions consumer research

EmuCare Acne cream September - October 2002.
In September 2002 Almeca BV has executed a consumer research amongst 40 persons.

This research has been executed as follows:
Through the Internet people who are chronically suffering from acne were called up to cooperate on a consumer research. They received two 50 ml. packages of EmuCare acne cream:

  • Cream A:
Cream A is a cream which quickly penetrates into the skin. The aimed goal was for the user to experience the product as a neutral one. This indicates that people don’t have the experience that there is a film on their skin.
  • Cream B:
Cream B is a cream with the aim that the user experiences this cream as a nourishing/hydrating product.

Both products have an equally high concentration of active ingredients (emu oil and chaulmoogra oil). People were asked to use cream A. for 2 weeks and further cream B. for 2 weeks.

The goal of the research was twofold

  • What will be the effect on the acne?
  • How the user would experience the product, dependent of his skin type?
